At one time, nearly all prescriptions were compounded. With the advent of mass drug manufacturing in the 1950s and ‘60s, compounding rapidly declined. The pharmacist’s role as a preparer of medications quickly changed to that of a dispenser of manufactured dosage forms, and most pharmacists no longer were trained to compound medications. However, the “one-size-fits-all” nature of many mass-produced medications meant that some patients’ needs were not being met.
As a compounding pharmacist, my passion is to work with the patient and prescriber to customize medication to meet the patient's specific needs. I completed a clinical weight management certification with the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine. The certification program is designed to explore a spectrum of weight loss management strategies including medications, lifestyle changes, behavioral interventions, and diet options to empower healthcare professionals to navigate the complexities of obesity care with confidence and expertise.
Our team approach to weight management is in line with my belief in customized medications, supplement support therapy, diet and lifestyle changes, and stress management to support patients to live a well life.
I understand no single approach to education, post-graduate education, or practice experience prepares you to best serve patients. I graduated magna cum laude from North Dakota State University with a doctorate in pharmacy. I sought diverse practice experience in hospital, corporate infusion, specialty pharmacy, ambulatory clinic, sterile and non-sterile compounding, and nuclear pharmacy (ANP) settings over my twenty-five-year career as a pharmacist. Over the past fifteen years, I have enjoyed serving the community of Scottsdale as a small business owner and clinical consultant to partner pharmacy organizations. I pursued expanding my education as an Advanced fellow with the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, advocated for patient compounded medication access at a congressional level as a board member for the Alliance for Pharmacy Compounding, and served my corporate compounding peers by selection to PCCA’s Strategic Business Advisory Council.
We are an independently owned compounding pharmacy dedicated to the provision of personalized medications to meet the unique needs of our patients.
Compounding pharmacies are a highly specialized discipline requiring training, dedication, creativity, and a solid knowledge of treatment options
